NBRC National Seminar (NNS-2019)

NBRC National Seminar (NNS-2019) was held on 2nd August 2019 (Friday) at NBRC auditorium, This program was organized by Dr. D. D. Lal, who was the organizing secretary of this NNS-2019 program. The NNS-2019 program theme was "Enhancing the role of the library with new tools for teaching and learning. The inaugural session was started with lighting the lamp by dignitaries.

Dr. D. D. Lal (Head & officer in charge for library) has delivered an introductory address and highlighted the objectives of the seminar. Prof. Pankaj Seth welcomed the audience and participants with welcome speech. Dr. Jagdish Arora, who was a special Guest on this occasion, highlighted the importance of library and current situation. The inaugural speech was given by Prof. Neeraj Jain (Director, NBRC) and he described about the Role of librarian and importance of library in current scenario. There was two keynote address given by Dr. Ramesh C. Gaur (Director & Library Head, IGNCA) and Dr. Suman Mallik (Ex. Dy. Director & Scientist, CDRI, Lucknow). Dr. Ramesh C. Gaur expressed on the topic "Emerging Library Tools and Technologies for Teaching, Learning and Research" & Dr. Suman Mallik expressed on the topic "New Roles for LIS Professionals Repository/Archive of Research data". There was 6 technical session in this NNS-2019 program.

-: Session -1 :-

The first technical session chaired by Dr. R. K Chadha (Former additional secretary, loksabha, parliament library) and there was two speakers in this session. The first speaker Dr. Shantanu Ganguly given his speech on the topic "DAVE (Data Analytics and Visualization Experience) Model". The second speaker Dr. Nabi Hasan given his speech on the topic "New Roles for LIS Professionals to Survive in the Changed Environment".

-: Session-2 :-

The second technical session chaired by Dr. R. K Sharma (Librarian, United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan) & there was two speakers in this session. The first speaker Dr. G. Mahesh given his Lecture on the topic "Revisiting 25 Technologies in 50 Minutes". The second speaker Dr. Lata Suresh given her Talk on the topic "Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs Partners in Knowledge. Governance Transformation".

-: Session-3 :-

The third technical session chaired by Dr. Debal C. Kar (Librarian, Ambedkar university, Delhi) & there was two speakers in this session. The first speaker Dr. P. Visakhi given her speech on the topic "Open access Publishing: Cross Disciplinary Approach". The second speaker Dr. S. Siva Chidambaram given his speech on the topic "Role & Challenges on Scholarly Communications for Biomedical".

-: Session-4 :-

The fourth technical session was a panel discussion on "Importance of Resource Sharing, Networking and Consortium in the Current Scenario" and this session was chaired by Dr. D. V. Singh
(Ex. Librarian, University of Delhi). There was three panellist i.e. Dr. P. Visakhi, Dr. Neeraj Chaurasia & Dr. D.D. Lal, who advocate about the Importance of Resource Sharing, Networking and Library Consortium.

-: Session-5 :-

The fifth technical session chaired by Dr. P. K jain (Librarian, Institute of Economic Growth, New Delhi) & there was two speakers. The first speaker Shri. Kumar Sanjay given his talk on the topic "Role of Libraries". The second speaker Shri. Munesh Kumar given his speech on the topic "Digital Marketing of Library Resource and Services".

-: Session-6 :-

The sixth technical session chaired by Dr. R. N. Malviya (Chief Librarian, Ansal University, Gurgaon) & there was only one speaker i.e. Dr. Geetanjali Rana Kanwar & she given her speech on the topic "Role and Challenges of Librarians in Digital Era". There was 4 Publisher's i.e. Elsevier, Springer Nature, Accucoms & iGroup and they also represents their product during the seminar.
